The 2025 Polaris 850 RMK Khaos 146 is a high-performance mountain snowmobile built on the MATRYX platform, featuring a powerful 850 Patriot engine. This model is specifically tuned for a more dynamic and "playful" riding style in the backcountry, prioritizing lift, agility, and a "wild child attitude". 

  Engine and drive system

• Engine: A liquid-cooled, 840cc Patriot 850 2-stroke engine with Cleanfire® injection provides instant throttle response and strong, reliable power.
• Optional power: Spring-order SnowCheck models were available with the Patriot 9R or Patriot Boost factory mods, which were lighter for 2025.
• Drive system: The QuickDrive™ system is designed for quick response and low inertia, which aids in maneuverability in deep snow.
• Clutching: Features a P-85 primary clutch and a TEAM® LWT driven clutch.
• Starting and reverse: PERC® electronic reverse is standard, and electric start is an available option. 

Chassis and suspension

• Platform: The MATRYX platform is lightweight and narrow, featuring a redesigned throttle system, a 1-inch lower seat, and improved running board clean-out for 2025.
• Rear suspension: The RMK Khaos Rear Suspension is specifically designed for a playful feel, emphasizing weight transfer and traction for agile handling. It offers 16 inches of rear travel.
• Front suspension: The RMK React front suspension offers a highly predictable ride with a narrow, adjustable ski stance (36–38 inches).
• Shocks: The suspension is controlled by ultra-premium Walker Evans® Velocity Hi-Lo shocks, which are adjustable for high- and low-speed compression damping and feature remote reservoirs for consistent performance.
• Tracks: Track options include a 15 x 146 x 2.0-inch Crossover track or a 15 x 146 x 2.6-inch Series 6 track. 

Technology and features

• Instrumentation: Riders can choose between the standard MessageCenter Display or the upgraded 7S Display with RIDE COMMAND, which includes integrated GPS navigation.
• Lighting: New for 2025, lightweight LED headlights provide superior visibility and contribute to a 2.5-pound weight reduction.
• Seating: A lightweight, single-rider Matryx Comfort seat is standard.
• Controls: Includes standard high/low hand and thumb warmers and a 5-inch ProTaper handlebar.
